5 Makeup Items I Always Repurchase | Beauty Must-Haves
I know with makeup it seems like trends are all people talk about, it is seriously hard to keep up with what is considered “in” at the moment. But I want to talk about my makeup staples. You know—the products that you reorder as soon as you realize you are going to run out of it soon. The ones you thought you were just testing out, but suddenly you’re on your third tube/pan/tub and it’s like, “Yep, guess we’re in a committed relationship now”. There are probably more than five but here are a few products that have just stuck for me and really see no need to test out new products to replace them because I just keep coming back to these products. I like that they are reliable, easy to use, and make me feel like I actually know what I’m doing (even if I don’t).So here it is: my list of five makeup products I keep repurchasing—and a bonus item that’s definitely more of a splurge, but 100% worth it in my book!
1. La Roche-Posay Tinted Sunscreen
I pretty much wear this product every single day. I love how lightweight it is, it blends like a dream, and gives me just enough coverage to even things out without feeling like having a full face of makeup on. I think my favorite part is that it has SPF 50 in it! It lets me feel more put together without having to do a full face of makeup. It gives me that “I woke up like this” vibe (but with sun protection)! No white cast, no greasiness, it matches and blends with my skin and it works well with the other products I use. I’ve repurchased it so many times I’ve lost count. Why I keep buying it: It makes me feel put-together in under a minute and protects my skin at the same time. It’s a win-win!
2. Benefit Gimme Brow Tint
If I had to get ready in 60 seconds, this would be one of the first things I would grab hands down. It gives my brows shape and just the right amount of tint without needing to bust out a pencil or spend 10 minutes doing whatever it is the kids do these days with their eyebrows. I like that I don’t have to be super great at makeup for it to work, my brows are done in just a few swipes of the wand. I love how quick it is, it’s perfect for lazy mornings, quick errands, or when I am doing more of a full face of makeup. Why I keep buying it: It’s quick, foolproof, and makes me look way more awake than I actually am.
3. Tartelette Tubing Mascara
Okay, let’s talk mascara, I have done a couple of blog posts where I review mascara and this was number on the Tarte Mascara Review that I did. The only reason it wasn’t number one on the Drugstore Mascara Review blog post is beucase it didn’t fit the criteria. This mascara is so good, I promise I have tried so many mascaras and this is the one that keeps coming out on top as number one. It gives me long lashes without clumping or flaking, and the best part is that it is a tubing formula, so it comes off with warm water—no scrubbing, no raccoon eyes. It wears so well all day and never smudges under my eyes. Why I keep buying it: It stays put all day, looks great on my lashes, doesn’t take 10 years to get it to look the way I want it to and comes off like a dream. Zero fuss, max impact.
4. e.l.f. Halo glow loose setting Powder
I think it is because of the humidity here but I can’t not put powder on my face, if I don’t it really feels like my skin is melting completely off which is the worst. I decided to give this $6 powder a try and I am really liking it! It sets everything in place, tones down shine, and doesn’t make my skin look dry or chalky. It’s especially great under the eyes or around the T-zone when I want things to stay put without looking cakey. I’ve repurchased this like four or five times at this point and I don’t see a change in the future! Why I keep buying it: For me it works really well for $6 which is good enough for me!
5. Kaely Cream Under Eye Corrector
I found this missing gem from my life on a whim. I was really wanting something light to add to my under eyes before my tinted moisturizer and I found this under eye corrector on Amazon for less than $8 and decided to just try it out. If you haven’t tried a peachy-toned under-eye corrector yet—run, don’t walk. This little pot is magic for brightening up my tired looking eyes. It’s super creamy, blends like a dream, and actually helps cancel out those dark circles instead of just covering them. It comes with a brush that works but I usually just use my ring finger and pat it under my eyes to blend it out. You can also add concealer over top of it but I will usually just wear it on its own when I’m not doing a full face of makeup but just want to look a little more awake. Why I keep buying it: It’s like a tiny nap in a jar for my under eyes that always seem to need a nap.
Bonus: Charlotte Tilbury Bronzer
This product is definitely more of a splurge but I have had the same one for about a year now and when I run out I will be buying it again because I love the way that the powder goes on! It’s smooth, blendable, and gives me the most natural sun-kissed glow without looking too bronzed. The formula is buttery soft and it really blends like a dream. Another reason to love it like I said before is that it lasts forever and the pan is huge even though I use it year-round to warm up my face! Why I keep buying it: The way that it blends is perfect and it is the perfect addition for when I am just wearing tinted sunscreen, brow gel and mascara.. Worth. It.
So these are my “tried-and-true” makeup favorites that I keep repurchasing without hesitation. I love that I know these products are going to work when I reach for them, no guesswork involved.
