5 Addictive Book Series I Couldn’t Stop Reading (And You Won’t Either!)
Have you ever picked up a book just to "see what it’s all about," and then suddenly it’s 2 AM, you’re emotionally invested in fictional lives, you’ve already ordered the next in the series and you’re okay without sleeping until the whole thing is over? Yeah—that’s been me, more than once honestly and that is shocking coming from someone who NEEEEVER read until last year and then I read over 85 books in 2024! But I wanted to share with you guys the book series’ that I’ve stumbled into that completely took over my brain in the best way possible. You know the kind—where you finish one in the series and immediately reach for the next one without even really coming up for air. If you’re looking for stories that hook you and don’t let go, these five series might just ruin your sleep schedule (you’re welcome)! I am also adding in some series that I am in the middle of and really enjoying but haven’t finished yet if you already checked off the ones I mention!

1. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas - This series literally altered my brain chemistry, I can’t even explain how much I love this book series! It is 8 books and from what I understand it is a complete series! I completely think this series should be listened to beucase I got so much more from it than I think I would if I had just read it on my own. This is the order that I read the series in, but some people switch book one Throne of Glass and The Assassin’s Blade and read The Assassin’s Blade first, I really enjoyed the order that I read it though with reading Throne of Glass first and The Assassin’s Blade third.

2. Blue Rebel Ranch Series by Lyla Sage - I had never read a cowboy romance or a small town romance type of book but woah I was missing out haha! I really liked this series and read through them so quickly! These are easy, quick reads with the right mix of a good plot and spice. Each book is a couple from the same family/ranch/town and I like getting to see characters from the other books get mixed in and interact with the new characters lives a little bit more.

3. The Dream Harbor Series by Laurie Gilmore - I first grabbed The Pumpkin Spice Cafe because it looked like a fun and cozy read for the fall last year and quickly decided I needed to read the rest of the series! I like that these books are again short and easy reads but they are also perfect seasonal books as well which are fun to mix into your TBR lists. I read The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore in the fall as well and then The Christmas Tree Farm around Christmas! The Strawberry Patch Pancake House just came out and it will be great for the spring (I will be reading it very soon!). But I just love that these are like sort of cheesy, small town, Gilmore Girl vibe type books that are just fun to read! I also think that each book in this series got better than the previous book. Laurie Gilmore has The Gingerbread Bakery coming out in September of this year which will be another good late fall cozy read to add to the TBR list!

4. King of Sin Series by Ana Huang - King of Wrath is actually the first book that I read in December of 2023 that sort of kicked off this whole reading journey for me. It wasn’t the best book I’ve read (since then) but I am definitely thankful that I read it because it’s the reason I kept reading other books. I liked book one (King of Wrath) in this series a lot and then book two (King of Pride) for some reason took forever for me to read. I thought I was done with the series altogether and then I got convinced to read book three (King of Greed) and I looooved it! I am so happy I went back into this series beucase now there is a fifth book out (King of Envy) and it is on my TBR!

The Twisted Series By Ana Huang - I read these four books in between reading King of Greed and King of Sloth which is one of Ana Huang’s other series that I mentioned right above this and I really liked these. Again, for some reason the second book in this series like the King of Sin series wasn’t my favorite at all but the other three books make up for it! I also just recently saw that Ana Huang signed a deal with Netflix to make a movie or a series with these books so that will be cool to watch eventually!

Chestnut Springs Series by Elsie Silver - I’ve been reading this series for a bit now and the Chestnut Springs Series is also interconnected to the Rose Hill series and the Gold Rush Ranch series. You can read them as stand alone series’ but I am really liking her writing so I am pretty committed to reading them all! After I read the last book in the Chestnut springs series I will move onto the four books in the Gold Rush Ranch Series and then move onto the others in the Rose Hill series. So if you haven’t read any of the book series I just mentioned, I highly suggest you do and I will apologize ahead of time for the obsessions that you are about to create for yourself haha! Those are the five book series that fully took over my life for a while—and honestly, I’d do it all over again. Each one pulled me in for different reasons especially with them being in different genres, they each something that made me forget about the world for a bit which lets be honest, we all freakin’ need that!
