Wildgrain Gluten Free Bread Box Review: Is It Worth It?

If you’ve been around for a while, you probably know that I am gluten free (not by choice haha) and if you yourself are gluten free then you know how exciting it is when you find good bread that actually tastes like bread! Finding good gluten free options has come a long way, don’t get me wrong, but it can still sometimes feel impossible to find good choices, especially freshly baked choices! For the last couple of years, I have seen Wildgrain all over Instagram and TikTok. It seemed like everyone was saying such good things about their bread subscription boxes, but I honestly had no idea they offered gluten free options until a couple of months ago. The second I found out they had gluten free options, I signed up immediately! After receiving our first couple of boxes, I wanted to share our experience, what's included, and whether I think it's worth it!

What is Wildgrain?
Wildgrain is a subscription service that delivers frozen artisan breads, pastries, pasta, and baked goods directly to your door. Everything arrives frozen and it is designed to be baked fresh in your own oven. I feel like a lot of people know Wildgrain for their regular breads and other baked goods, but what is really exciting is that they also offer a Gluten Free Box that is filled with breads, bagels, rolls, cookies and other baked goods! One of the things that immediately stood out to me about Wildgrain is the variety that they have to choose from! They offer both regular and gluten free items, and there are so many different breads, rolls, bagels, and other baked goods to pick from. One of the parts that I am loving the most is that everything arrives frozen and then is baked fresh in your own oven when you want it. It gives you that fresh baked bread experience without having to spend hours in the kitchen or babysit a sourdough starter. As someone who loves the taste of homemade bread but hasn’t had success with making bread from scratch, this was a huge selling point for me! The baking process is simple, and the smell of fresh bread filling the kitchen never gets old. Every item we've tried so far has been delicious, and it's honestly hard to believe some of these products are gluten free!
Is the Wildgrain Gluten Free Box Worth It?
For us, the convenience of having delicious fresh gluten free bread delivered straight to our door and then the ability to have it baked fresh when we want it is so nice! The quality has exceeded my expectations, and it's also introduced us to gluten free breads and other baked goods that we probably wouldn't have discovered otherwise. I think if you're gluten free and looking for fresh bread options that don't sacrifice flavor, I definitely think Wildgrain is worth considering. I can’t even imagine how good the non gluten free options would be!

The Slow Fermented Sandwich Rolls and the Rosemary Focaccia are two of our favorites! The texture is soft, the flavor was amazing, and they worked perfectly for sandwiches and as sides for dinners! We also really like the Country Loaf, it is so good, especially right out of the oven freshly baked! The bagels are also excellent for a quick breakfast during the week.

Wildgrain vs Grocery Store Gluten Free Bread
One of the things that I've noticed after trying Wildgrain is how different it feels compared to most of the gluten free bread options that you can get from the store. Most gluten free breads that I have tried are usually tiny loaves, really dry or just fall apart, only taste good when they are toasted and are super expensive! I think that Wildgrain is such a better experience because it’s fresh baked bread at home. The texture of the bread is so much better and it doesn’t taste super processed. I do know that Wildgrain is more expensive than just buying a loaf of bread from the store but you are also paying for convenience and you are getting a variety of breads to try that you wouldn’t usually get to.

If you have food allergies or specific dietary restrictions, I always recommend checking the ingredient lists and nutrition information before ordering and really just checking it out for yourself. But Wildgrain gives you a very detailed ingredient list and nutrition information for their products on their website, which makes it easier to see if the box will be a good fit for you!
