Review of Our Pet-Friendly Povison Reclining Couch
Hi friends!
We have lived in our house for almost 6 years now and up until about three months ago we had the wooorrrsttttt couches in our living room. They were fine but they were always a temporary solution to needing a more comfortable couch and they just never lasted. But back in like February or March we were like enough is enough, let’s get a couch that we actually want to spend time on even if that means paying a little bit more because we want this one to last! We did a bunch of looking online with our couple of criteria must haves which were that it needed to be pet friendly and we knew we wanted a reclining couch. We looked for a few weeks and we found the Povison Modern Power Oversized Pillow Back Reclining Couch with a ton of configurations, checked off our must haves and it had the look that we wanted and we decided to go for it! We pretty much fell in love with it right away but after spending time relaxing on it for a few months with both people and pets, I feel ready to share a full review with you guys now! This might be detail heavy but I couldn’t find a ton of info out there when I was shopping for this couch so I wanted to make sure that I had all the details for you guys if you are also in the market for this couch!

First Impressions & Delivery Experience
The first thing we noticed when the couch got delivered to our house was how well packaged everything was. The delivery went smoothly, and there was no damage to any of the pieces when we were unpacking it. This couch (even thought we bought two different couches for two different spaces) came in about 1 million boxes. I mean not really but each piece had a box and we were breaking down cardboard for about 2 weeks to try and get it all out in the recycling bin. But the delivery driver put all of the pieces into our garage and we brought them as we were unboxing them. I would say though that if you have trouble carrying weight I would have someone there with you to bring them into your house. The setup itself was actually easier than I expected but most of the pieces connected really quickly. When it was all put together the couch immediately felt sturdy and high quality, there wasn’t a wait to make sure things inflated or anything like that, we were happy with it! I do think that sometimes online furniture can feel disappointing in person, but these couches honestly looked just as good in our living room than it did online. The oversized cushions were really what drew us in and they instantly gave that cozy “sink in and relax” feeling!
Design, Aesthetic & Comfort
You will probably pick up on me saying this a lot throughout the post but one of the main reasons we chose this couch was because it does not look like a traditional recliner. A lot of reclining furniture that we were finding looked huge or just a little bit outdated but this one has such an elevated look. I love that the oversized pillow back cushions make it feel really inviting without looking messy. I also like the clean lines on the cushions that make it fit really well in a more modern living room. Another feature that we loved about this was that the controls for the recliner are subtle and under the cushion so it doesn’t stand out but it also doesn’t feel like an easter egg hunt to recline the chair either! The fabric is a super soft texture that is comfortable but it doesn’t feel like we need to be careful or not have the pets on it. It defiantly feels sturdy and durable! We also love the neutral color because it fits perfectly with our decor style. Lastly, even with the couch being the larger size, it still feels stylish rather than bulky which I love! I feel like comfort wise, this couch has completely lived up to our expectations. We love that the seats are deep and oversized which is perfect for lounging, watching movies, reading, or even napping on it which I have partaken many a time since getting this couch! The cushions are soft without feeling like you completely sink through them, so there’s still good support. The reclining feature is smooth and quiet, and being able to adjust the headrests makes a huge difference comfort wise.
Pet-Friendly Performance
If you didn’t know, we have two Australian Shepherds who basically run our house and we wanted to make sure that we were buying a couch that would work well in a home with high energy pets. So far the fabric has held up really well with boys jumping up there to take a nap on a daily basis! We really don’t see pet hair on the couch because the fabric basically repels their fur which we love! I mean don’t get me wrong, there is stuff fur on the couch and we vacuum it but you can’t tell day to day that it is there which is great. Fur also doesn’t get stuck in the material either which is a plus. We’ve also been pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to spot clean, not like getting out the little green machine but just taking a damp rag to a spot every once in a while, it comes right out! I have also said this a couple of times but the fabric feels durable enough that we’re not constantly worried about minor scratching from claws, which is a huge relief. Obviously no couch is completely pet proof, but this one definitely feels more durable than other options. Even with the boys lounging on the couch all day the couch still looks put together, we aren’t having to fluff the cushions constantly and they keep their shape, major bonus!!
Favorite Features
I wanted to list some bullet points of the features that the couch has that we love!
Our favorite feature is definitely the power reclining function. It’s smooth, easy to use, and lets you find the perfect lounging position without awkward manual levers.
We also love the adjustable headrests because they make a huge difference when watching TV or reading. It’s one of those features you don’t realize you need until you have it!
The oversized seating is another huge plus. It’s nice if multiple people are sitting together or one person wants to fully stretch out, it feels really roomy and comfortable.
The built in USB charging ports are so freaking convenient and help keep cords from constantly taking over the living room! I like that when we aren’t using the cords we can just tuck it under the cushion and you don’t even know that it’s there!
We don’t use this in the living room but we do in Dustin’s office but the couch has a wall-hugging reclining design, which means it doesn’t need as much clearance behind it as some traditional recliners do which made the most sense for us where we put it against the wall!
In one of the seats there is actually storage so we were able to put some of our blankets that we have in there and freed up some room in the closet which was nice!
Things to Keep in Mind
We really have loved this couch but I wanted to mention a couple of things to note before you decide to purchase it.
The couch is on the heavier side so make sure you measure and order accordingly to fit the space you are shopping for!
The fabric is durable and great for pets but depending on the type of pets you have the lighter color will require some occasional cleaning. For example, we have had our couch since March and we decided to wash a couple of the more loved cushions this past weekend!
Since the couch is a power recliner you will need to have the couch near an outlet so that might affect your decision making process or how you fit the couch in your space!
I would say it is definitely more of an investment piece rather than a budget couch. But for us with how comfortable it is, the quality of the couch and the features that it came with, it feels worth the higher price point in our opinion!
Is It Worth the Price?
For us, yes absolutely it is worth the price for sure! I really think that this couch looks and feels much more high end than other reclining couches that we have seen out and about. It is that cozy oversized feeling of a loungey type couch but it still looks really nice. If you have pets, like to hang out and have movie nights, are a big reader and want a cozy spot, I think this one is definitely worth checking out! It was definitely an investment up front but it genuinely feels like one of those purchases that improved the quality of comfort in our house, especially with both of us working from home and spending so much time here!
I know that was a ton of information but I wanted to make sure that I didn’t forget anything! We seriously love how well this couch has fit into our house, so much that Dustin has the same (but smaller) version of it in his office! These couches have quickly become one of our favorite purchases for our home, I don’t know what it is but our living room seems more complete now. It is such a cozy couch but also still looks put together and more modern rather than frumpy and a mess! We also love the fact that it has held up so well with our two Australian shepherds because they basically run this house and we aren’t going to tell them no they can’t get up on the couch, it is their house too! I really think that if you have been looking for a couch that reclines, looks pretty but is also comfortable and good for pets then this couch from Povision is worth checking out!
