Bluey Themed Pool Party Birthday: Easy Decor & Activity Ideas
Bluey Themed Pool Party birthday 🐾
Hi friends!
If your kiddo is obsessed with Bluey like so many little ones are, I think that a Bluey themed birthday party is such a fun and easy theme to pull together. We recently hosted our friend's kiddo's birthday party at our house and decided on a Bluey pool party theme. It was the end of April so it was the perfect time to use the pool and our outdoor space and it was one of the easiest birthday parties we’ve ever put together! It was a small group so we did a party that felt fun and relaxed without really needing to do a ton of planning. We used Bluey decorations throughout the house and the backyard and then focused on activities that would keep the kids busy while giving the adults time to relax and visit as well. Pretty much all of the decorations and activities were inexpensive, easy to find and kept the kiddos entertained for the whole day! I will share all of the details below! 🐾
Happy planning!
Easy Bluey Party Decorations
We kept the decorations simple and really just focused on making the space feel colorful and fun. We blew up SO many balloons and then we put them ALLLL over the house and in the bounce house which was really fun. Of course, we had to include one special red balloon inspired by the Bluey episode "Keepy Uppy." It ended up being one of the simplest activities and was a huge hit with the kids.We had a few Bluey themed backdrops and happy birthday signs in different areas of the house! Adding a few Bluey character decorations around the party space also helped to tie everything together! We got these beach balls for the pool that had dog paws all over them and they were fun in the pool to play with. We also got some Bluey themed bath toys that we brought out to the pool to make it feel a bit more special and then those toys doubled as part of his birthday gift to take home with him!
Activities we had
Our friends brought over their bounce house with a slide and we set it up in our formal living room and it was the perfect place for the kids to burn off energy but also able to get out of the sun!
Pool Fun
Outside was really the main event of the birthday party with the pool! We added Bluey themed pool toys and paw print beach balls, which instantly made the pool feel more festive and gave the kids plenty to do!
For something to do in the living room I got this water coloring pad, I just set it on the floor with all of the gadgets it came with and it was perfect! It’s mess free, easy to use and fun to draw on!
The Bluey slime activity was another fun addition to the party, we set up a table next to the kitchen for the kids to play with the Bluey themed slime! I just put a plastic tablecloth down under the table so messes weren’t a concern! This would also be a good activity to add if it’s too hot or if you are doing the theme another part of the year where the party is just inside the house!
If you've never used a bubble machine for a kid's birthday party, I highly recommend it. I was going to originally put it outside but it was equally exciting inside and we turned the bubble machine on next to the bounce house slide and it was a lot of fun and the kids were so excited!
No Bluey party would be complete without a game of Keepy Uppy! This was the easiest thing to do, we just used a red balloon and then the kids to keep it from touching the ground. It was simple, required literally zero work and it fit the theme perfectly!
What We Bought
I loved that for this party theme there were so many options to choose from for Bluey party supplies!
Party Food & Snacks
We kept the food simple because this portion was really just snacks to have for pool time but we served:
Fresh kiwi slices
Cupcakes, we just had blue and white frosting cupcakes but there are so many cute Bluey cupcake toppers out there!
I feel like the themed snacks were an easy way to tie in the Bluey theme without spending a ton of time on party food! Plus, the popsicles were perfect for the warm weather and they were in the shape of Bluey so it was a win win!
Overall, this Bluey themed pool party was a huge success! Between the bounce house, the pool toys, bubbles, themed slime, and plenty of balloons, the kids stayed entertained all day long! It was simple to plan, easy to decorate, and didn't require an over the top budget. If you're looking for an easy birthday party idea for a Bluey fan, I highly recommend combining a Bluey theme with a pool party! The activities practically plan themselves, and you'll end up with a fun celebration that both kids and parents will enjoy.
